Jobber or Housecall Pro? Both bill in US dollars.

You've got a crew, a phone full of jobs and a spreadsheet that's had enough. Jobber and Housecall Pro are the two names everyone mentions.

The short answer

Both are good apps, and both list their prices in US dollars before tax12.

  • For five people billed yearly, Jobber Connect and Housecall Pro Essentials both list at US$149 a month.
  • That's about C$2,508 a year at the Bank of Canada rate for 26 October 20263.
  • Pick Jobber for routing and your Google profile.
  • Pick Housecall Pro for a phone line and payroll in the app.
  • If your week fits the app, buy the app.

Which one, by how your week runs

  • Pick Jobber if route planning, your Google profile and posting finished jobs matter most.

Jobber says those are built in, and that Housecall Pro needs a third-party add-on for routing4.

    The detail

It's an Edmonton company, and its terms put customers outside the US under Alberta law5.

  • Pick Housecall Pro if you want a phone system, payroll or postcards inside the app.

Housecall Pro says Jobber has no built-in phone system or direct-mail postcards6.

    The detail

It says Jobber has no custom pricing forms or supplier bill pay either6. Jobber's own page agrees: choose Housecall Pro if you need built-in calling or payroll4.

  • Try both if you can't tell yet.

Both advertise a 14-day free trial; Jobber's runs on its Grow plan and needs no credit card12.

  • Neither, if nobody has the evenings to set it up and keep it running.

An app gives you the tools. Someone still builds the price list and answers the evening texts.

    The detail

They chase the late invoice, too. Count that person before you count the plan.

The CAD column is our arithmetic: the yearly-billed price × 12 × 1.4025, the Bank of Canada's rate for 26 October 20263.

The detail

That's before tax and any fee your card charges to convert. Jobber's lower prices for new customers end on 30 October 2026, so we've left them out1. Extra users on Housecall Pro Max are US$35 a month each2.

Contracts, payments, and where each company sits

  • Jobber: month to month with no commitment ends at the end of the billing period1.
    The detail

    A 1-year monthly plan has a 12-month minimum; yearly prepaid isn't refundable1. Housecall Pro's prices shown are billed yearly2.

  • Card payments: "Jobber Payments is available in the UK, US, and Canada"7.
    The detail

Housecall Pro's payment options page names no country8, so ask before you sign.

  • Jobber's terms put customers outside the US under Alberta law, with courts in Edmonton5.
  • Jobber's terms make it your job to keep "backups of your data at all times"5.

A year for a five-person crew

Example

  • Five people, billed yearly, no promotion.
  • Jobber Connect: US$149 × 12 = US$1,7881.
  • Housecall Pro Essentials: US$149 × 12 = US$1,7882.
The detail

At 1.4025, each is US$1,788 × 1.4025 = C$2,507.67 a year before tax3. Same money, so the choice comes down to features and to who runs it.

The bigger number is the person who sets it up and keeps it right. Calgary's median wage for an office manager is $29.13 an hour9.

The detail

Five hours a week of that is 5 × 52 × $29.13 = $7,573.80 a year, about three times the app.

Leaving later

Both let an admin export your customer list as a CSV, Jobber on select plans1011.

The detail

Where we fit

There's a third route: a system built around your week and run for you, in your name, by people who answer for it.

The detail

We don't publish a price, because every system is scoped to the business it runs. If one of these apps would serve you better, we'll tell you.
